Paste these into the <head> of your page, above the closing </head> tag.

Which meta tags actually matter?

Not all meta tags are created equal. Some directly affect how you appear in search and social; others are legacy tags that do nothing. This generator only outputs the ones worth having in 2025.

  • Title & description — the foundation. They shape your search listing and click-through rate.
  • Canonical — tells Google the preferred URL and prevents duplicate-content dilution.
  • Open Graph — controls the title, description and image shown when your page is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn and most messaging apps.
  • Twitter Card — does the same for X/Twitter, with a large image preview.
  • Robots — controls whether the page should be indexed and its links followed.

The old meta keywords tag is deliberately left out — Google has ignored it for well over a decade. If you want every template on your site producing correct tags automatically, that's part of our technical SEO service.
