Long-Tail Keyword

A longer, more specific search phrase that usually has lower competition and higher buying intent.

A long-tail keyword is a longer, more specific search phrase, typically three or more words, such as "affordable wedding photographer in Sydney" rather than just "photographer". They are called long-tail because, individually, each one is searched less often, but together they make up the majority of all searches.

For small businesses they are gold. Because they are more specific, they face less competition, are easier to rank for, and tend to attract people who know exactly what they want, which often means higher conversion rates. Building content around many long-tail phrases is usually more achievable than chasing a few broad, fiercely competitive terms.
