Anchor Text
The visible, clickable words of a hyperlink that tell readers and search engines what the linked page is about.
Anchor text is the visible, clickable text of a link, usually shown underlined and in a different colour. It gives readers a hint about where the link leads and gives search engines a strong clue about the topic of the destination page.
Descriptive anchor text like "our Sydney SEO services" is far more useful than vague text like "click here". This applies to both internal links and backlinks. That said, avoid using the exact same keyword-heavy anchor everywhere, as an unnatural pattern can look like manipulation to search engines.
