Duplicate Content
Identical or very similar content appearing on more than one web address, which can confuse search engines.
Duplicate content is when the same or very similar text appears at more than one web address, either within your own site or across different sites. While there is no specific penalty for most duplication, it can confuse search engines about which version to rank and split your ranking signals between copies.
Common causes include the same page available with and without "www", printer-friendly versions, product descriptions copied from manufacturers, and the same page reachable through multiple filters. Fixes include using canonical tags, setting up redirects, and writing original descriptions rather than reusing supplier text.
